I wanted to throw this up there. These are a few of my favourite projects that I made in 2018.<br />
<br />
The first is the toy soldier. He's quite perfect and regal. He is actually designed to be an EMS Honour Guard. I love it!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAwV0Dls7LtvFAs8Ml46aeoLYiUStysrN_DQnT6J6LRfq022s-A770VeFlk8tQYo6FB3mrQoOuVv6oXXfvSjv-8JO3BHaSM9fBFl0HlKnPyEjzLnwSFYb3L8IkR_oLwW-t4WgGdUdD8n0/s640/blogger-image--780547179.jpg" /><a href="http://svgcuts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=519">SVGCuts.com</a></div>

<br /></div>
My flamingo wardrobe sits on my kitchen counter to hide all the little small things that accumulate on the counter. (kind of like a junk drawer, but more classy hahahaha)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8VTEe55XEcjwzGcO-Yyx1WoGqXKHkwERfp6MrCbFVoeKswP3GXRvvYJHukqcUeKQzgUZ3QKlW_LVQ_ADFmSsGbyqJGIlJKo9MGEeFdMwGAUFO-QtR8tixK6EQhglpbBVy2mVqtNNcTqI/s640/blogger-image-1396100379.jpg" /><a href="http://needlesnknowledge.blogspot.com/search?q=wardrobe">Needles 'n Knowledge blog</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
Flamingos in a box was another one of my favourites. I keep this one on display in my living room.<br />

The beehive box card was made with love. The recipient absolutely loves it, and the bees are so adorable.<br />

and finally, my painted furniture piece. I bought some cheap furniture off of marketplace and painted them with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. The fold down door and drawers were decoupaged. It is REALLY heavy, so it's sitting by my front door right now until I have someone help me carry it upstairs. I've got big plans for this one LOL!<br />

There are many times after I make something, that I think "oh this is my favourite" but I it's because I make all these things from the heart. I give a little piece of me with everything I give away. Thanks for stopping by. Talk to you soon. ๐</div>

this one is another SVGCuts project from <a href="http://svgcuts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=78&products_id=441">Garden Party Box Cards</a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I inked the turquoise paper with Copper ink and sprinkles of copper embossing powder. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Then I die-cut poinsettias and holly springs to decorate the lantern.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
A lantern needs a candle, so I die-cut a large white candle and added it to the inside.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I really like how this one turned out. It's rustic and festive.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
thanks for joining me these last 12 days. I actually have some more cards to share, but I will take a little break before I put those up. See you soon everyone!</div>

I always like to do a retro themed card at Christmas time. I love the nostalgia of the vintage ornaments and Santa and his reindeer.<br />
I used the plain box card in the <a href="http://svgcuts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=78&products_id=395">Christmas Box Cards kit</a><br />
I printed and cut out the inserts for the card and added some ornaments to the front<br />
(the ornaments were fussy cut from the paper I used for the box base)<br />
apart from the detailed cutting, the card was super simple to put together.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA0U8Vbd3bFGfKzAoTaFxf_Q_hF5pyGhN9_7z1mdYB5aCFPsP9Cq1IPYFACo87TrnKAOlsMd2084acaiuHe_ZjsgFDkQT6BZlZFIP6kcUI9yF5705lps0xD5Uj41Bdu3y974UWLR3EjSE/s640/blogger-image--1908700743.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA0U8Vbd3bFGfKzAoTaFxf_Q_hF5pyGhN9_7z1mdYB5aCFPsP9Cq1IPYFACo87TrnKAOlsMd2084acaiuHe_ZjsgFDkQT6BZlZFIP6kcUI9yF5705lps0xD5Uj41Bdu3y974UWLR3EjSE/s640/blogger-image--1908700743.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Whew! we are almost done the 12 days. One more to go! See you tomorrow.๐</div>

This 12 days of Christmas Cards is going by so fast!<br />
This project is from SVGCuts.com <a href="http://svgcuts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=514">Halloween Box Cards</a><br />
I'm not much of a Halloween person, but I LOVE Christmas, so I knew right away that I wanted to change it into a Christmas story book.<br />
I left the moon on the book (it's part of the cut file) but added Santa and his flying reindeer and the title "Christmas Stories".<br />
Of course I had to bling it up a bit, so I embossed the moon with Shabby White embossing powder and foiled the background of the title with a mother of pearl sheet.<br />
A couple sprigs of white evergreen, snowflake, and a reindeer die cut finish off the front of the card.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOsP8dfCFosdxchUWWxm10SoEBSEgFhUhWhTEoLxTdBrL8Xp06PDEOj-bC78YhJlWgfzaiEW9k0u5ibBbaO27bEL6PrE3cJselrudx5qUE0n9oiao2uuMwBG_Zro5mnQm5UHjBUmhkfhU/s640/blogger-image--147397803.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOsP8dfCFosdxchUWWxm10SoEBSEgFhUhWhTEoLxTdBrL8Xp06PDEOj-bC78YhJlWgfzaiEW9k0u5ibBbaO27bEL6PrE3cJselrudx5qUE0n9oiao2uuMwBG_Zro5mnQm5UHjBUmhkfhU/s640/blogger-image--147397803.jpg" /></a></div>

Mary has a Poinsettia Box Card over at SVGCuts.com<br />
<a href="http://svgcuts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=395">Christmas Box Cards</a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiIW-OiUg9th12hvmSxfg_dIgznUMuNpEmlUwbmrYPtWJgCPDTj14nH54U7EQw9x4et-fU5En-hFOEiIvsrGoH3B0p05FVlJlfrXpnMjU4vyU5B5zrIty6qJmKKSM-RSvDB6Gk-rUj_B4/s640/blogger-image-35721202.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiIW-OiUg9th12hvmSxfg_dIgznUMuNpEmlUwbmrYPtWJgCPDTj14nH54U7EQw9x4et-fU5En-hFOEiIvsrGoH3B0p05FVlJlfrXpnMjU4vyU5B5zrIty6qJmKKSM-RSvDB6Gk-rUj_B4/s640/blogger-image-35721202.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I modified it a little - OK a lot! Instead of using the flower cut files, I imported and re sized the poinsettia images I have. I added some greenery, a cardinal, and pine cones.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I did end up cutting out the images by hand (ya I know๐ณ) but I wanted to make sure that there was no white border around the printed images. I added some glitter glue to the flower centers and the evergreen sprigs. It gives it a frosty sparkle, and I we shouldn't let anyone dull your sparkle!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>

This one was designed entirely in my Silhouette Studio<br />
I printed the graphics on a good quality cardstock. I added a glitter overlay by applying Sookwang tape to the picture then dumping Rock Candy Glitter all over the exposed adhesive.<br />
The glitter dulled the image a bit, so I just enhanced the flamingos with black,red and green markers.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

This card has a special meaning for me. I made it for someone very close to me, and who truly has my heart and soul.<br />
The card is from SVGCuts.com <a href="http://svgcuts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=78&products_id=412">More Christmas Box Cards</a>.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I changed the wreath on the door to Moose antlers and added a red ribbon on the wreath.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I also added some snowflake paste (Prima) and a little bit of glitter and green sprigs on the lantern.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
The gift in the front has "ribbon" made from 1/8" Sookwang tape and glitter. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
The best part about giving this card to my person, was the reaction I got. I love how he supports and encourages my paper art. </div>

Today I'm sharing a vintage snow sled.<br />
I cut the sled out on my Silhouette machine and colored it with metallic silver Sharpie and red Copic markers<br />
Next I cut the background panel and cut the stars into it (Tim Holtz)<br />
I also cut skates and the bow from dies<br />
I added some bells and greenery for decoration<br />

I purchased this cut file from the Silhouette store last month. It's really pretty and quite easy to assemble. And there is a great video tutorial from the designer Marji Roy<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzfkN7oxMS6RdJDm2Tk9CFJ0Pbg3hw4NF7r8hfuArg58wNg7oy0_XFi-oWyvjigHXRjlBwh7_LnXw3QLsjcyvzKpQm2p8ocoth1nPTjwgcieQQsY7zvRjkrh1YMh3E-5ssDhIZDcqAPkM/s640/blogger-image--913478065.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzfkN7oxMS6RdJDm2Tk9CFJ0Pbg3hw4NF7r8hfuArg58wNg7oy0_XFi-oWyvjigHXRjlBwh7_LnXw3QLsjcyvzKpQm2p8ocoth1nPTjwgcieQQsY7zvRjkrh1YMh3E-5ssDhIZDcqAPkM/s640/blogger-image--913478065.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I cut the village out with kraft colored paper and inked the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I glittered all the roof pieces and trees with Rock Candy dry glitter and then added the wreaths and bows (which I colored with Copic markers)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
See, told you it was easy. That's all there is to it really. See you tomorrow๐</div>

I love the colors on this card, and I love my silhouette machine!<br />
I cut out a birch tree background (5x7) and a deer using cut files I had in my library.<br />
I embossed the trees using Shabby White embossing powder and the deer/frame were embossed with interference green and a little sprinkle of the Shabby White powder.<br />
The background was dry embossed using the older birch trees folder from Tim Holtz, and highlighted with Evergreen Bough distress ink.<br />
The stamped sentiment is an old stamp I had in my stash. (I have so many stamps, you guys.) Most of my wood mounted stamps are retired or unavailable now. ๐<br />
<br />

It's my most favorite time of year. I started working on my Christmas cards back in October. I will be sharing my creations with you.<br />
<br />
This first card combined a few techniques. I printed the window (download file from Alpha Stamps/Laura Carson) and cut out the panes.<br />
I then covered my blue background paper with Sookwang tape and placed the window over top. The exposed adhesive was now ready for Rock Candy Glitter.<br />
I cut the NOEL out on my Silhouette, the embossed with white powder and a custom mix I made with Shabby white and blue embossing powders.<br />
There's the Tim Holtz' tattered snowflake die/embossing folder and another snowflake cutout over the L<br />
I added some white yarn and some bling to finish off the card.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSOQ_Y8g7exD2bH8HBWBZsRKyORK-nYSUhemFy03i3NKKj0M_Py5UbnBVtRzhsdsAChrD_ak_lqsU6_4Yq82rImyMu-OVUgYFDu-tkrfI-GunqsS0vftPRiSr64VYaSTvGoQHfo3yt8dY/s640/blogger-image-326584183.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSOQ_Y8g7exD2bH8HBWBZsRKyORK-nYSUhemFy03i3NKKj0M_Py5UbnBVtRzhsdsAChrD_ak_lqsU6_4Yq82rImyMu-OVUgYFDu-tkrfI-GunqsS0vftPRiSr64VYaSTvGoQHfo3yt8dY/s640/blogger-image-326584183.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I like the frosty/shabbiness of this card. Not your traditional Christmas colors, but more of a wintery shabby chic look. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Thanks for looking, stay tuned for more cards this week. ๐</div>

Our Thanksgiving is this weekend and I made a fun "centerpiece" for the table.<br />
<div>
<a href="http://svgcuts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=509">SVGCuts.com</a> released the latest kit "Fall Weekend" and it is fabulous. I've made all the projects in the kit, and I'm in love with all them!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I constructed the truck using turquoise paper, but after it was put together, I wanted it to have a glossy finish, so I painted it with Finnibair's blue/pink iridescent paint. (Prima)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii1FeQO6fuRTqoKfqtKHJyLRaL2IBoMyGUmJuaNZSCWwWdtODq2cFEnEy_li0P64R6xRKb7yGm1lZfluakq2TaKtTr4MIc0t8FEP99YJDG02l0EkAb6V6rTkyug1xbpo2LOXU2ezv30zg/s640/blogger-image--413643029.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii1FeQO6fuRTqoKfqtKHJyLRaL2IBoMyGUmJuaNZSCWwWdtODq2cFEnEy_li0P64R6xRKb7yGm1lZfluakq2TaKtTr4MIc0t8FEP99YJDG02l0EkAb6V6rTkyug1xbpo2LOXU2ezv30zg/s640/blogger-image--413643029.jpg" /></a></div>
We have a party going on in the back of the pickup truck. I've mentioned before that I buy a lot of graphic files from the Hungry jPeg website. This particular one is "It's Turkey Time" that was in the November feast bundle last year. Hahaha, yes I've been waiting all year to use it๐<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3h5ekz7k35rpNagWi7wQQHfYZ0luhHxIa0QA2VhFoZhwsCZ13EcCYutWtPPF11ID1TXyyFhPUOk1fgxi6QPNsaU2FSUrELpy0U2ihQ9MU9Lf2dNZZN1KkI3UG-PQaUGZAmjnC9ZCFU-Y/s640/blogger-image--987103211.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3h5ekz7k35rpNagWi7wQQHfYZ0luhHxIa0QA2VhFoZhwsCZ13EcCYutWtPPF11ID1TXyyFhPUOk1fgxi6QPNsaU2FSUrELpy0U2ihQ9MU9Lf2dNZZN1KkI3UG-PQaUGZAmjnC9ZCFU-Y/s640/blogger-image--987103211.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I also made the geometric pumpkin that is in the kit as well. I used Bo Bunny "Winter Wishes" paper.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
It's a very subtle pink on one side, and off white on the other (12"winter wishes icicles item #20901833) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
The leaves were cut at 50% and 75% . Which is cool, because they're still a great size to use with the pumpkin. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoQtzGbhXhPpEreaI2av8x8Htj8i3tTVJt2A7_UV9_i2RGFOzu3c52DmEZhR3yfWfe77rvgflwAH_zyHTPRC3_sr7r2zOz7WpDHCDbxhMoUxlCSoddJA5cX-7pTfMzGlcxW9NLoYvmHSY/s640/blogger-image-149593391.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoQtzGbhXhPpEreaI2av8x8Htj8i3tTVJt2A7_UV9_i2RGFOzu3c52DmEZhR3yfWfe77rvgflwAH_zyHTPRC3_sr7r2zOz7WpDHCDbxhMoUxlCSoddJA5cX-7pTfMzGlcxW9NLoYvmHSY/s640/blogger-image-149593391.jpg" /></a></div>
I really love this kit! Thanks Mary! I've said it before, and I will say it again, "you are a paper engineering marvel"<br />

I wanted to share this pretty box card that I made.<br />
The cut file is from Mary's Wildflower Saloon kit over at <a href="http://svgcuts.com/">SVGCuts.com</a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkmFDnKa9BN-FTF7UWATXSwA2bLS_F4cThekhK9rUxJ1_FzqgEg0jItxfyo70sgtTCC9qalUMiGUo7XJDwF2dScv7T64288Ps_OEUo7YjGSDRd6vaK0oC550jYV7LvfVMi6eKOFGB1xZE/s640/blogger-image-936517794.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkmFDnKa9BN-FTF7UWATXSwA2bLS_F4cThekhK9rUxJ1_FzqgEg0jItxfyo70sgtTCC9qalUMiGUo7XJDwF2dScv7T64288Ps_OEUo7YjGSDRd6vaK0oC550jYV7LvfVMi6eKOFGB1xZE/s640/blogger-image-936517794.jpg" /></a></div>
as you probably know, I purchase a lot of graphic files from thehungryjpeg.com<br />
I printed the flamingos, cut them out and arranged them in the box.<br />
I added a few die cuts (leaves and bamboo) to give it a little more color.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGmCuXpb0-WUwYTy2AwPLSTPifAZGW2w-nxvGMk0S3lILM2wZdcp_O9o2a0e9_I0ReVl0OvAtfwKC9Qb8gjfQR44_iomLco4UAQ1Prg3vJY4AaRi60ryn8WeFvMZ885LgLiqBrELk7wao/s640/blogger-image-125035994.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGmCuXpb0-WUwYTy2AwPLSTPifAZGW2w-nxvGMk0S3lILM2wZdcp_O9o2a0e9_I0ReVl0OvAtfwKC9Qb8gjfQR44_iomLco4UAQ1Prg3vJY4AaRi60ryn8WeFvMZ885LgLiqBrELk7wao/s640/blogger-image-125035994.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Yeah, I'm keeping this one. I LOVE flamingos and it fits perfectly with the decor of my house!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Thanks for taking a look, see you soon.</div>

Today I'm sharing the quilted gift box from the Wildflower Saloon SVG kit.<br />
I cut out the pieces to this project at 50% scale. I had an idea in mind, so I wanted to create the box in a smaller size so I could play around with it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXWddO_ulL1Dhg4xAkGMuQVdauPv77rjG3dDmQPxDzqaPMSO94rpRBruuU75nxWrSwtbjADFATICJ_lTRoRbYDfU00yVUPS-KgQwEcwOEKfrp9KzH3iwxnctRqv1icnk3riM6Iq80wv94/s640/blogger-image--671522965.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXWddO_ulL1Dhg4xAkGMuQVdauPv77rjG3dDmQPxDzqaPMSO94rpRBruuU75nxWrSwtbjADFATICJ_lTRoRbYDfU00yVUPS-KgQwEcwOEKfrp9KzH3iwxnctRqv1icnk3riM6Iq80wv94/s640/blogger-image--671522965.jpg" /></a></div>
The quilted box top was cut out using white cardstock. I sized a flamingo to be in proportion with the finished section. After it was glued together, I came back in and started inking a beachy landscape. I used distress inks for that.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEhc2pU7aCAtLlKvHXLrORQdGCsvekoFa5QFpQP3DGUrv0r2twC2qIGR7z0Vx0HTsFNK_urcRklrSarffJyASx6OXowBjCDKM64WnwePtZ5osXlR9G-xLvadgFFn5lxuhTK8Xc1pAUZ48/s640/blogger-image-1591461209.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEhc2pU7aCAtLlKvHXLrORQdGCsvekoFa5QFpQP3DGUrv0r2twC2qIGR7z0Vx0HTsFNK_urcRklrSarffJyASx6OXowBjCDKM64WnwePtZ5osXlR9G-xLvadgFFn5lxuhTK8Xc1pAUZ48/s640/blogger-image-1591461209.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
This box is a great size for little odds 'n ends. I will be using it to store/hide things in my art room.</div>

<br />
<a href="https://theurbanscrapbookblog.wordpress.com/2018/05/02/may-kit-reveal/">The Urban Scrapbook's May Kit</a><br />
<br />
This month's kit contains the beautiful chipboard pieces along with paper from Simple Stories.<br />
Plus a little challenge as well...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibbJIjKhqJ-ZC6zbOisWY1zUGGMcEV2Hkvs10kQr7sMpR2dAuyGfoW4ZdjODyqxJzd_TNbhXL8ihZShG4-kg5QEpb0NamJYvvnXlfnrdPNJ0_ibdvQwRV7p7p0cNfGLV5RcL7wzE1Xr58/s640/blogger-image-1486516421.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibbJIjKhqJ-ZC6zbOisWY1zUGGMcEV2Hkvs10kQr7sMpR2dAuyGfoW4ZdjODyqxJzd_TNbhXL8ihZShG4-kg5QEpb0NamJYvvnXlfnrdPNJ0_ibdvQwRV7p7p0cNfGLV5RcL7wzE1Xr58/s640/blogger-image-1486516421.jpg" /></a></div>
The layout isn't complicated. I painted the chipboard with Prima paints which added a nice iridescent sparkle<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1YxJ34Bt29feY0LCh9WYnAgyHZOfkg6JAK1-UjZhVADJBlX8FkCRRwWSBa8UZlt2e1IMFzMpzj0VFlKebmK3qZ3Q60USCDsdpquYHkxRp4QVE_4a3P1cMYhAIIJWjZLNYQJyLOIGXl6U/s640/blogger-image--1844038836.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1YxJ34Bt29feY0LCh9WYnAgyHZOfkg6JAK1-UjZhVADJBlX8FkCRRwWSBa8UZlt2e1IMFzMpzj0VFlKebmK3qZ3Q60USCDsdpquYHkxRp4QVE_4a3P1cMYhAIIJWjZLNYQJyLOIGXl6U/s640/blogger-image--1844038836.jpg" /></a></div>
and for the challenge element in the kit? A shaker card!<br />
I created a background on the card base using the Sizzix transfer sheets and a butterfly die from Memory Makers. Then I inked the card with the same colors as my background paper on the layout and assembled the card.<br />
NOTE: make sure your plastic shaker piece is adhered really well to the paper. I had sequins everywhere! It was more like an explosion card when I shook it. sigh<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmAYssEY4XG01yqvImFL8broyvjcwHwJb96ktA3GjoJ0s80FGmUM9zwoF_xWHgY3CnJnTeG1szYBD8WETKjGX58t0k9uddVhj2W6P42p5Gt0aVD-4H_QUNhdtr3PTewddcNlSUsCcp-g0/s640/blogger-image-1422272100.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmAYssEY4XG01yqvImFL8broyvjcwHwJb96ktA3GjoJ0s80FGmUM9zwoF_xWHgY3CnJnTeG1szYBD8WETKjGX58t0k9uddVhj2W6P42p5Gt0aVD-4H_QUNhdtr3PTewddcNlSUsCcp-g0/s640/blogger-image-1422272100.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
anyway, happy National Scrapbooking weekend. Let's make sure we include a little creativity and play time into our Weekend. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
bye for now.</div>

<br />
I took the Wildflower Saloon box card and made a trunk full of hibiscus using Heartfelt Creations stamp and die sets.<br />
I used some of the leaves from the SVG file, but mainly, I stamped and cut out the hibiscus and leaves to fill in the box card.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYCNDtRGI3Go5Hn68g21TEk3YbYU9Yt4npNNmT-YyLWuGAsunoItjJy9aaThLzjHBBk6-o0DxHNuw-MCjt-cuYzzzjX5dbAQkzNroRtuXrVoHDUHmo8o7lwHY-boV4IRxNNr-xtKxu7Rg/s640/blogger-image--955962094.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYCNDtRGI3Go5Hn68g21TEk3YbYU9Yt4npNNmT-YyLWuGAsunoItjJy9aaThLzjHBBk6-o0DxHNuw-MCjt-cuYzzzjX5dbAQkzNroRtuXrVoHDUHmo8o7lwHY-boV4IRxNNr-xtKxu7Rg/s640/blogger-image--955962094.jpg" /></a></div>
What do you think? I like it a lot!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEif6j0_rjy_23VYQ7_bRIFQbpV6qfvQDoErfkkwqr4CCMPO3v5dZAIBg9eEVr3TkEdBN0QUshMTWSniRdYBzPGn9yRQ_1ZJPYtEZb6SR-wckIbZzukm83zhssQURkyAPUtRqgYIvAFgWRE/s640/blogger-image-777613785.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEif6j0_rjy_23VYQ7_bRIFQbpV6qfvQDoErfkkwqr4CCMPO3v5dZAIBg9eEVr3TkEdBN0QUshMTWSniRdYBzPGn9yRQ_1ZJPYtEZb6SR-wckIbZzukm83zhssQURkyAPUtRqgYIvAFgWRE/s640/blogger-image-777613785.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I colored the flowers by sponging pink distress ink on them and then coming in with a copic marker to darken the centers. The leaves were colored with 2 shades of distress ink (Lucky Clover and Peeled Paint)</div>

Check out this new kit from <a href="http://svgcuts.com/blog/2018/03/26/new-free-gift-wildflower-saloon/">SVGCuts</a>. I love everything about this kit, and I had a blast putting it together. Of course, I had to put a bit of a tropical twist on it so that it would fit in with my home decor.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMyhTkrB_VbpeJ7WYKfSjqf61lKJ6IYXjj_9johgFZTMebUj05KBL_cj6pf86Ew06B2MEctgsGu_840Oxd9dLl4e3_CVuz0E3pHXp5WLAuT75Aum3TfS4outZsBapUq73gCj9frhQpdi4/s640/blogger-image--672406369.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMyhTkrB_VbpeJ7WYKfSjqf61lKJ6IYXjj_9johgFZTMebUj05KBL_cj6pf86Ew06B2MEctgsGu_840Oxd9dLl4e3_CVuz0E3pHXp5WLAuT75Aum3TfS4outZsBapUq73gCj9frhQpdi4/s640/blogger-image--672406369.jpg" /></a></div>
The trunk of wildflowers - I love this box card. I cut the flowers out with white cardstock, and colored everything with copic markers or distress inks.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEink17VuC1c09exL23rBzs2jZk_kqSYY4lKRxN3KgmHVoMD3t4pOmKEHK4BR5WO9oEOsVc2VwESzI05BozwIVxoo5mLcDChN5dGqXmxjQGaQGHgt_chSHeJY3GlTuI7TIgg-cluO-xopZU/s640/blogger-image--189301660.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEink17VuC1c09exL23rBzs2jZk_kqSYY4lKRxN3KgmHVoMD3t4pOmKEHK4BR5WO9oEOsVc2VwESzI05BozwIVxoo5mLcDChN5dGqXmxjQGaQGHgt_chSHeJY3GlTuI7TIgg-cluO-xopZU/s640/blogger-image--189301660.jpg" /></a></div>

the whiskey barrel - well now it's a rum barrel, looks awesome. For the metal bands around the barrel, I took a silver ink pad and smunched it all over the black strips. Easy peasy.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge4qlc9vGvaBxLFZ6QTYCC7wmmWg-B_JpqDd9kf3B4auv1JTEG9T-M-7djUieP0NST9zbXTWEH3V84OuQt3oJu4SqvOleBk-IrdySHtYsvCd_jskbmuU9bmr-HIgiWZZMtM0HyuxO-LVM/s640/blogger-image--2034015597.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge4qlc9vGvaBxLFZ6QTYCC7wmmWg-B_JpqDd9kf3B4auv1JTEG9T-M-7djUieP0NST9zbXTWEH3V84OuQt3oJu4SqvOleBk-IrdySHtYsvCd_jskbmuU9bmr-HIgiWZZMtM0HyuxO-LVM/s640/blogger-image--2034015597.jpg" /></a></div>
For the lantern, I wanted clear "glass". I didn't have the little candle lamp, so I had to improvise. I created a clear tube of plastic to fit in the holes, wrapped a string of 10 LED lights around it and inserted the whole bandle inside the clear plastic lamp.<br />
<br />

here it is all lit up. Oh and I made my own paper as well, I printed white cardstock with a copper patina pattern<br />

oh and this awesome cowboy hat...what can I say about that? I thought it reminded me of Indiana Jones' Fedora. Again, I printed my own paper texture- it looks almost like suede. pretty cool! A tropical hat band and "flamingo feathers" finish it off.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOJ1YBDpbM8lQo-UYMgLJ_2MC1cfvAQg42YZWPgUP2T9jziuYhQuDJrsz13Xq4bn68xxNgVErbLFOdYgUu7tK6Duz8hYXTqlWum8Gry_C_kRmoxvPLnNNnJTtGkXPvBzolI7VnBp-Cunk/s640/blogger-image-499231429.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOJ1YBDpbM8lQo-UYMgLJ_2MC1cfvAQg42YZWPgUP2T9jziuYhQuDJrsz13Xq4bn68xxNgVErbLFOdYgUu7tK6Duz8hYXTqlWum8Gry_C_kRmoxvPLnNNnJTtGkXPvBzolI7VnBp-Cunk/s640/blogger-image-499231429.jpg" /></a><br />
Thanks for stopping by the blog, I really enjoyed making all these projects from the kit. Bye for now.Laurie Yhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02542607342154102444noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2245914177545174951.post-73227943915652455732018-04-07T07:00:00.000-06:002018-04-08T08:46:52.433-06:00Dog selfieDid you ever make a project that just makes you smile? This one did for me.<br />
I made this birthday card for my friend/co-worker/dog lover.<br />
It started with the instant camera box card SVG file. You can purchase it from the Parkside Row kit over at SVGCuts.com<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOfL0Y1jjqdLNkpqfDr3OMNy_tc7w5u35EFTEYH1CuMNGuvCLq5bPIIqZeV2hLlqzjSovpja61ic0A8sC6x_9D1u_882BGPWAL0qHxnGlz_bg5VV-Bn6rU5LKyilQwA6g0mDdAw5ANzRA/s640/blogger-image-1494552724.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOfL0Y1jjqdLNkpqfDr3OMNy_tc7w5u35EFTEYH1CuMNGuvCLq5bPIIqZeV2hLlqzjSovpja61ic0A8sC6x_9D1u_882BGPWAL0qHxnGlz_bg5VV-Bn6rU5LKyilQwA6g0mDdAw5ANzRA/s640/blogger-image-1494552724.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I used an absolutely fabulous picture from artist Howard Robinson. He has a number of animal selfie pics - all of them are so fun.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<img alt="Parkside Row SVG Kit" src="http://svgcuts.com/images/parkside-row.jpg" height="131" width="320" /> โฌ Parkside Row </div>
<br />
The embossing folder used was <u>Sparkles</u> from Tim Holtz. The rest was colored and assembled as per the instructions.<br />
Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoyed this fun box card. See ya soon...<br />

I used everything in the kit. The only "extra" thing I used was a coral colored marker (copic) for my letters. You can check out the other layouts from the team over at the blog using the same link as above.<br />

The box card is from "Springtime Box Cards" at SVGCuts.com<br />
<a href="http://svgcuts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=22&products_id=418&zenid=83837a2ec225b91c68a81fca976f839c">here</a><br />
<img alt="Springtime Box Cards SVG Kit" height="155" src="http://svgcuts.com/images/springtime-box-cards.jpg" width="320" /><br />
So What did I do? I cut the box card base and panels. For the clover, I used a png graphic file Ipurchased from the hungry jpeg instead of the SVG.<br />
I replicated the clover - resizing as needed - and cut those out. Luckily, there was some flowers in the png selection as well. (I have a TON of graphic files on my computer) I couldn't even say which one it was.<br />
The dogs are a file I purchased from the Silhouette Store. I set them up as a print 'n cut.<br />
Once everything was printed, I cut out the pieces and assembled the card.<br />
Lastly, I cut out a clover wreath (memory box) using a die that I have and embellished the front of the card.<br />

I wanted to share my little home decor project I made to hide away some of the junk that accumulates on my kitchen counter.This project took me quite a while to make, but I really love the way it turned out! I was inspired by the painted furniture I see on Pinterest. <img height="200" src="https://i.pinimg.com/564x/0f/44/d1/0f44d1fb0ef81fd97392346f762f47c3.jpg" width="146" /></div>

<br />
<br />
hello!<br />
This cut file is from Snapdragon Snippets, purchased on the Silhouette Design Store.<br />
I opened the file in Silhouette Studio and my first reaction was "oh my..."<br />
Once I started ungrouping things and rearranging pieces, I ended up using about 10 pieces of paper for the armoire itself, and then an extra 3-4 pieces for trim and prettiness.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

the assembly tutorial is very helpful and I referred to it quite often. You can check it out <a href="http://needlesnknowledge.blogspot.ca/2018/01/decorated-wardrobe-3d-box-decoration.html">here</a><br />

I wanted my flap to be part of the door, so I made a paper hinge that is hidden under the left side. (Jody's wardrobe opens the other way)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I layered the keyhole and then embossed it with silver embossing powder.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I also added a dimensional 8 point star on the top embossed with silver as well.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
The inside was decorated with paper and elements that I had made a long time ago. I always seem to keep a lot of little things - just in case. ok maybe I'm just a hoarder, but you never know lol!</div>

I think it turned out pretty great. A lot of work, but worth it. It looks pretty cool on my counter.<br />
thanks for looking! See you soon.<br />

I actually used pictures of me this month!<br />
This month's kit at Urban Scrapbook features Vicki Boutin's paper line "All the Good Things".<br />
You can see the kit <a href="https://theurbanscrapbookblog.wordpress.com/2018/03/02/march-page-kit-reveal/">here</a>.<br />
I loved the one piece of paper so I cut it on a diagonal to create a double page layout.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_T4jpJH0LxzvIfuor8itAfpS9CNjaY-SWWdH2kMvI6x4Sk1mA741KBvKLEwe0fc8W1ZUvHnmzT4MhRtZB47vRZkyCKy_vnBm63J41MhDmogwFyWSo1QD1AlJqavHF8xP0LKTrxX5QvTw/s640/blogger-image--1117959805.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_T4jpJH0LxzvIfuor8itAfpS9CNjaY-SWWdH2kMvI6x4Sk1mA741KBvKLEwe0fc8W1ZUvHnmzT4MhRtZB47vRZkyCKy_vnBm63J41MhDmogwFyWSo1QD1AlJqavHF8xP0LKTrxX5QvTw/s640/blogger-image--1117959805.jpg" /></a></div>
the left page uses the transparent overlay under the photo, as well as the word "love" on top.<br />
I added a bit more color with a circle/bubble die from Memory Box<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEib5my3y_f0a9tl6cE0cNm8-jBx04Cnzd9uKPWmQHQEDSZ-oIik9zqs0tUyWjhX_ZTDLbl9bdFGh6VllyCo0sTNC1Z9IQ9amzMaPekJS2v18lIMCx45VfbE0GYovhC3uY1Te69fdO7pSsE/s640/blogger-image--1171219817.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEib5my3y_f0a9tl6cE0cNm8-jBx04Cnzd9uKPWmQHQEDSZ-oIik9zqs0tUyWjhX_ZTDLbl9bdFGh6VllyCo0sTNC1Z9IQ9amzMaPekJS2v18lIMCx45VfbE0GYovhC3uY1Te69fdO7pSsE/s400/blogger-image--1171219817.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
my script was computer generated, then traced onto the paper with a gold detail pen.<br />
The right side page included some of the goodies included with the kit - flowers and charms and pins (oh my). Oh, and I added liquid pearls to the diagonal cut line.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_PDfJuDFgiVXdsskEHuMQMoVOLY_W7-Sgs5ydfReT0CetXknDffylw3nM8ewgN6wqkncDcLkiFux80z3pxPpX22kQjHsM6RijvlV789RV6d0t7cpp-TmsZ4G_hr6e76eVYH8jd4JzybE/s640/blogger-image--1581261986.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_PDfJuDFgiVXdsskEHuMQMoVOLY_W7-Sgs5ydfReT0CetXknDffylw3nM8ewgN6wqkncDcLkiFux80z3pxPpX22kQjHsM6RijvlV789RV6d0t7cpp-TmsZ4G_hr6e76eVYH8jd4JzybE/s400/blogger-image--1581261986.jpg" width="395" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
We had a great night on the beach. My annual trek to Thailand always creates new experiences and new friends.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
thanks for stopping in, see you soon. </div>
