12 Days of Christmas Cards - Lantern

Hello and welcome to day 12 of my "12 days of Christmas Cards."
this one is another SVGCuts project from Garden Party Box Cards

I inked the turquoise paper with Copper ink and sprinkles of copper embossing powder.
Then I die-cut poinsettias and holly springs to decorate the lantern.
A lantern needs a candle, so I die-cut a large white candle and added it to the inside.
I really like how this one turned out. It's rustic and festive.

thanks for joining me these last 12 days.  I actually have some more cards to share, but I will take a little break before I put those up. See you soon everyone!

12 Days of Christmas Cards - Retro Santa Box Card

Hi everyone!
I always like to do a retro themed card at Christmas time. I love the nostalgia of the vintage ornaments and Santa and his reindeer.
I used the plain box card in the Christmas Box Cards kit
I printed and cut out the inserts for the card and added some ornaments to the front
(the ornaments were fussy cut from the paper I used for the box base)
apart from the detailed cutting, the card was super simple to put together.
Whew! we are almost done the 12 days. One more to go! See you tomorrow.πŸ’

12 Days of Christmas Cards - Christmas Stories

Hello again
This 12 days of Christmas Cards is going by so fast!
This project is from SVGCuts.com Halloween Box Cards
I'm not much of a Halloween person, but I LOVE Christmas, so I knew right away that I wanted to change it into a Christmas story book.
I left the moon on the book (it's part of the cut file) but added Santa and his flying reindeer and the title "Christmas Stories".
Of course I had to bling it up a bit, so I embossed the moon with Shabby White embossing powder and foiled the background of the title with a mother of pearl sheet.
A couple sprigs of white evergreen, snowflake, and a reindeer die cut finish off the front of the card.

Thanks for looking, see you tomorrow πŸ’

Poinsettia Planter Box

I've had this idea for a card all month.  Mary has a Poinsettia Box Card over at SVGCuts.com
Christmas Box Cards
I modified it a little - OK a lot!  Instead of using the flower cut files, I imported and re sized the poinsettia images I have.  I added some greenery, a cardinal, and pine cones.
I did end up cutting out the images by hand (ya I know😳) but I wanted to make sure that there was no white border around the printed images. I added some glitter glue to the flower centers and the evergreen sprigs.  It gives it a frosty sparkle, and I we shouldn't let anyone dull your sparkle!

12 Days of Christmas Cards - Fa LaLaLaLamingo

You didn't think I could go the whole 12 days without a tropical Christmas card did you?
This one was designed entirely in my Silhouette Studio
I printed the graphics on a good quality cardstock.  I added a glitter overlay by applying Sookwang tape to the picture then dumping Rock Candy Glitter all over the exposed adhesive.
The glitter dulled the image a bit, so I just enhanced the flamingos with black, red and green markers.
Merry Christmas, I hope it's Flamazing!

12 Days of Christmas Cards - Special Delivery

Here's a really cute card I made using the Red Truck Box Card over at SVGCuts.com
I did enlarge the files by 125% so the finished card is 5x8 when folded flat.
and the cute Santa and tree?  Those are from Shark&Croc "Santa Secret" which I purchased from The Hungry jPeg.
Santa is in a rush trying to deliver all those presents.  hahaha! He's so cute.  Thanks for looking! See you soon. πŸ’

12 Days of Christmas Cards - A"door"able

Hello again.
This card has a special meaning for me.  I made it for someone very close to me, and who truly has my heart and soul.
The card is from SVGCuts.com More Christmas Box Cards.
I changed the wreath on the door to Moose antlers and added a red ribbon on the wreath.
I also added some snowflake paste (Prima) and a little bit of glitter and green sprigs on the lantern.
The gift in the front has "ribbon" made from 1/8" Sookwang tape and glitter.

The best part about giving this card to my person, was the reaction I got.  I love how he supports and encourages my paper art.
Thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow

12 Days of Christmas Cards - Vintage Sled

Hello my friends. Today I'm sharing a vintage snow sled.
I cut the sled out on my Silhouette machine and colored it with metallic silver Sharpie and red Copic markers
Next I cut the background panel and cut the stars into it (Tim Holtz)
I also cut skates and the bow from dies
I added some bells and greenery for decoration
thanks for taking a look! See you tomorrow πŸ’

12 Days of Christmas Cards - Zig Zag Village

Hi! Day 3 already?
I purchased this cut file from the Silhouette store last month.  It's really pretty and quite easy to assemble.  And there is a great video tutorial from the designer Marji Roy
I cut the village out with kraft colored paper and inked the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink.
I glittered all the roof pieces and trees with Rock Candy dry glitter and then added the wreaths and bows (which I colored with Copic markers)

See, told you it was easy. That's all there is to it really. See you tomorrowπŸ’

12 Days of Christmas Cards - Let Heaven and Nature Sing

Welcome to Day 2
I love the colors on this card, and I love my silhouette machine!
I cut out a birch tree background (5x7) and a deer using cut files I had in my library.
I embossed the trees using Shabby White embossing powder and the deer/frame were embossed with interference green and a little sprinkle of the Shabby White powder.
The background was dry embossed using the older birch trees folder from Tim Holtz, and highlighted with Evergreen Bough distress ink.
The stamped sentiment is an old stamp I had in my stash. (I have so many stamps, you guys.) Most of my wood mounted stamps are retired or unavailable now. 😞

Again, not traditional Christmas colors, but so pretty.
Thanks for looking! See you soon. πŸ’

12 Days of Christmas Cards - A Frosty Noel

Happy December! It's my most favorite time of year.  I started working on my Christmas cards back in October. I will be sharing my creations with you.

This first card combined a few techniques.  I printed the window (download file from Alpha Stamps/Laura Carson) and cut out the panes.
I then covered my blue background paper with Sookwang tape and placed the window over top.  The exposed adhesive was now ready for Rock Candy Glitter.
I cut the NOEL out on my Silhouette, the embossed with white powder and a custom mix I made with Shabby white and blue embossing powders.
There's the Tim Holtz' tattered snowflake die/embossing folder and another snowflake cutout over the L
I added some white yarn and some bling to finish off the card.
I like the frosty/shabbiness of this card.  Not your traditional Christmas colors, but more of a wintery shabby chic look.
Thanks for looking, stay tuned for more cards this week. πŸ’
