These are a Few of my Favorite Things

I wanted to throw this up there. These are a few of my favourite projects that I made in 2018.

The first is the toy soldier. He's quite perfect and regal. He is actually designed to be an EMS Honour Guard. I love it!

My flamingo wardrobe sits on my kitchen counter to hide all the little small things that accumulate on the counter. (kind of like a junk drawer, but more classy hahahaha)

Flamingos in a box was another one of my favourites. I keep this one on display in my living room.

The beehive box card was made with love. The recipient absolutely loves it, and the bees are so adorable.

and finally, my painted furniture piece.  I bought some cheap furniture off of marketplace and painted them with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.  The fold down door and drawers were decoupaged. It is REALLY heavy, so it's sitting by my front door right now until I have someone help me carry it upstairs. I've got big plans for this one LOL!

There are many times after I make something, that I think "oh this is my favourite" but I  it's because I make all these things from the heart. I give a little piece of me with everything I give away.  Thanks for stopping by. Talk to you soon. 💝

Abandoned Dresser

Back in June, I should have been packing for the move. You can see the chaos in the background, but no, I got sidetracked with a project.
A big shout out to Jan at Urban Scrapbook for telling me about Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. (or maybe a good natured curse or two)hahaha
This paint is AHHMAZING! No priming necessary. Gotta love that.
When the man moved out in May, he left this old dresser in the basement. I loved the waterfall top and it reminded me of an old trunk. I had a vision, the challenge was to put what was in my head, onto the dresser.

I panicked a little because the patterned paper on the bottom two drawers was bubbling, but once it dried it went totally flat. (thanks to a great adhesive "Sculpture Medium" from Prima)

finished with leather accents and hardware. I bought a bag of leather scraps at Michaels.
The buckles at latches were designed by me on my silhouette machine - yes they are made out of paper!

what do you think? I am really over the moon happy with the way it turned out. Not bad for a dresser that was abandoned in the basement.
