Urban Scrapbook's Monthly Challenge Kit - July

Soooo far behind on posting stuff. I've moved and am trying to get organized. I have been in the new house for almost 3 weeks. It's coming along slowly. I have managed to do a couple projects in between unpacking and working. 

I realized that I forgot to post my layout for July. The kits are available at Urban Scrapbook.

Lots of fun layers and the chipboard pieces are part of the kit!

My photo I found on Pinterest. I pulled the amber color in the photo onto my background paper using a dot stamp and fossilized amber distress ink ( both from Tim Holtz)

Urban Scrapbook's September Challenge Kit

Hi, welcome to September, uggg summer is done? How did that happen? I want a do-over.

This month's kit at Urban is from the Basic Grey "Barista" collection.
The kit includes yellows, blacks, browns and some teal accents.

This is a picture of me enjoying a "real" cup of coffee in Kuala Lumpur.  After existing on Nescafe in Bali for 2 weeks, a real espresso brewed sweet nectar of the Gods was a "fresh cup of happiness"

I cut out some of the leaves from one of the papers and layered them up with a cut file from my Silhouette.
I used Peacock Feathers distress ink color in some of the leaves.

I sprayed some copper mica powder (mixed with water) over a coffee ring stencil.
I made the stencil on my machine using this cut file.

Vietnam takes their coffee very seriously.  We brought the coffee grinder pictured in the middle, home with us

I had lots of leftovers from my kit, so I put together a few cards. 

The card on the right (below) is an actual photo of my latte I had sitting outside the hotel in Saigon, Vietnam. I, too, take my coffee very seriously.

Urban Scrapbook's August Challenge Kit

Hi Everyone, 

I am back with the August layout for Urban Scrapbook. This month it features the Lori Whitlock 

"I ♥️Sunshine " collection from Echo Park. I love the vibrant colours in this kit. I didn't have any trouble finding photos to put on this layout. 

I used a lot of diecuts on this one, as well as a couple of rogue stamps 

In the background you might see the Large Leaf Palm (P0274 Stampington & Co.)

The Bird of Paradise is a  Fran's jumbo from Stampendous. I coloured it with pencil crayons. I don't colour enough with my old expensive set of Lyra pencils. I am always pleased with the results, they're tucked out of the way in my art studio, so I always forget to pull them out.

Urban Scrapbook's June Chalłenge kit

Greeting everyone,

I am particularly proud of this month's layout for the Urban Scrapbook's design team challenge. 

It all starts with a great photo for me. I knew that I wanted to do something special with this picture.

A bunch of us got together a couple of months ago so the guys could enjoy some premium Scotch. It was a formal night and while the ladies drank lots of wine upstairs, the men enjoyed a presentation and tasting of some very expensive Scotch (insert a shudder and horrible after taste look on my face here) downstairs. I think I will stick with wine hahaha...

This month's kit is perfect for a masculine/steampunk layout. The paper line is Marion Smith Designs and the kit also includes chipboard shapes from Blue Fern Studios and Tim Holtz' metallic paper and letter stickers.

I added some gold liquid pearl paint to the light bulb

I made this picture a little darker, so you can see the shine of the Perfect Pearl powder in the background.
