Pretty Bridal Gown

Oh I have been a busy gal!  Mary Rudakas keeps coming out with these fabulous SVG projects.
This one is from the Brunch Party kit over at SVGCuts.com

I used the waterfall embossing folder from Couture Creations (here) The turquoise ink is Broken China distress ink, and the tulle is from Michael's Craft store

writers note: after a little poking around the internet, I'm not entirely sure you can even get that embossing folder anymore. but any lace or dotted folder would work and look great
The dress is at Urban Scrapbook here in Edmonton. We have a pretty wedding display using paper from the "In Bloom" collection from My Mind's Eye.  (wait til you see the Stylish Handbag I made from the same kit). If you're in the area, pop in and have a browse. We have so much for everyone, you're guaranteed a happy shopping day.

Crazy Dogs Birthday Card

Hey everyone! Just a quick post to share a birthday card I made for a mutual dog lover friend.
I like the way this card turned out because EVERYTHING started out a white card stock.

I printed a neutral background pattern and cut it down to 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" It was then matted onto a
6x6" folded card
Next I found some square die cuts that had been colored with pigment inks along with the flower sprig (also colored with pigment ink)

The crazy dogs were stamped and colored with Copic markers. They were then trimmed down to fit inside the square frames.

A simple word and dog paw print were added after I assembled the card.
Quick and easy.

Quilt Rack

I am not a quilter, in fact, I am terrible at sewing . If I can't glue it, I don't make it. My 2 daughters however, are sewing artisans. Their cosplay costumes are amazing.
How could I incorporate "sewing" into my paper art? By making paper quilts, that's how.
This is kind of exciting because I can create a quilt display for all occasions.

The 3D quilt rack was constructed from a file available from Snapdragon Snippets here. Now that I have the rack completed, I can make my paper quilts.
My first paper quilt shown below is for St. Patrick's day. The hardest part was stitching the pieces together (refer to the first sentence in this blog post hahaha).
I will show more "quilts" as I make them. See you soon.

Blarney

Here's another cute project I made for the day. The card was super quick and easy to put together. I bought the file off of the Silhouette design store. This particular file is from Snapdragon Snippets. You can purchase the file here if you don't have a Silhouette account.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Top 'o the mornin' to yeh. Happy St. Patrick's day where everyone gets to be Irish for one day.
This project was absolutely inspired by Mary over at SVGCuts. When she made the beer box card in green, I HAD to make one as well.
The cut files are from the Sunday with Dad kit.
I added a shamrock circle frame resized to fit the front panel, some little tiny shamrocks die cut with gold foil paper and a couple stamps I have had in my stash for years.
The "please drink responsibly" stamp is perfect for the case of beer.
Enjoy your day!

Urban Scrapbook's Monthly Challenge Kit - March

Hello everyone:
It's time for the reveal of Urban Scrapbook's kit for March. This month features beautiful and girly paper from American Crafts "Hazelwood" line. Please pop over to the link here to check out what our amazing design team is creating with this kit.
As always, it starts with a picture (based on colors pulled from the papers). This pic is of my fabulous daughter. They spend countless hours creating and sewing costumes for comic book conventions. Seriously, I don't even have a clue about some of the characters they dress up as. It's a whole other world...
I fussy cut the sheet of butterflies, and set those aside.
I knew I wanted to create a dimensional layout, so I made a simple box card. I scored and folded the paper. I took a large punch (EK) to add a little more interest to the box.
After much thought (and many cups of coffee) I figured out a way to add it to the layout.
I cut two slits the width of the box, then slid the whole thing underneath the second layer of paper.
tip: I usually put Sookwang tape on the corners and middle of the layering paper. That way, you can go back and tuck things underneath the layer.
Then it was just a process of gluing the butterflies over the page.
I added the bag of goodies (buttons, sequins etc.) afterwards to fill in some empty spots
The little eyestopper below was created by spreading liquid adhesive and pouring the sequins and pearls over the wet glue.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look, and remember to pick up your kit at Urban Scrapbook before they sell out! See you next time!
