12 Days of Christmas - Happy Hanukkah

This year was an opportunity to make something for Hanukkah.  Our team lead at work is from Israel. With all the Christmas decorating and festivities at the office, I didn't want him to be left out. So...
I adapted the same snow globe file (see yesterday's post) into a winter themed Hanukkah card.

Everything was cut out in the pastel blue paper. It was actually perfect because the back was white.

I embossed a wood grain pattern on the base then cut the words and menorah from some cut files I purchased from the Silhouette Design Store.

I think it turned out very well, AND I love the versatility of this file from SVGCuts.com

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Top 'o the mornin' to yeh. Happy St. Patrick's day where everyone gets to be Irish for one day.

This project was absolutely inspired by Mary over at SVGCuts. When she made the beer box card in green, I HAD to make one as well.

The cut files are from the Sunday with Dad kit.

I added a shamrock circle frame resized to fit the front panel, some little tiny shamrocks die cut with gold foil paper and a couple stamps I have had in my stash for years.

The "please drink responsibly" stamp is perfect for the case of beer.

101 Birthday wishes

Hello again, I wanted to share the cute birthday card I made for my youngest daughter. She turned 22 the other day. But, I think that you are never too old for Disney! When Josie was little, she was absolutely dalmation crazy. We had so many stuffed dogs (not 101,but pretty close hahaha) 

Happy Birthday beautiful girl, I love you to the moon and back.

The base of the card is from SVGCuts "Christmas box cards" kit.

I searched the web for coloring pages for the dalmations and resized them in Silhouette Studio.

I ended up cutting them out by hand because I could not get my print 'n cut to work (GRRRRRRR)

I added a few little extras with stamped images and the label on the front was also a print and cut that I modified.

Here's my girl. They sew a lot of costumes for cosplay conventions. Super creative like  their mama.

Happy Birthday

OMy daughter turned a quarter century last week. Over the past year she has gotten her EMT certification and is now working for the provincial EMS. 

I love making box cards so I decided to make a happy birthday ambulance. 

I used a cut file from the Silhouette store and turned it into a box card. I think it's a pretty good replica of our ambulances in town.

Happy birthday Shelby! So proud to be your mama.

Bird Crazy Crew

I think the best thing about being a paper artist is designing and personalizing projects to give to friends and family.

This card holds a special place in my heart. I have worked with one of the gals for 10 years! The R A H stands for "Royal Alexandra Hospital" where we've seen a lot of crazy s#!% (inner city Emergency dept).
That being said though, we have shared a lot of laughs too. The crew will miss her.

I cut a basic box card using one of the plain files from SVGCuts "Christmas Box Cards"
Then I just started adding as many crazy birds as I could.
The nautical theme happened while I was thinking up a saying for the card. Crew - boat - crow's nest etc.
I think it turned out pretty awesome.

My youngest daughter turned 21 this past month. A milestone. Legal to drink all over the world. "Adulthood". Sigh, how did my babies grow up so fast?

I wanted to make a special box card for her and this exploding present turned out really cute. 

As usual, I bought a file from the Silhouette store and assembled the basic cut parts. 

I added a stamped tag to attach on the front, keeping with the same color scheme.

Inside, I stamped a large birthday stamp from Hero Arts and embossed the numbers 2 and 1

Look how cute the cake is, it fits a little tealight candle (battery operated for OBVIOUS reasons)

I embellished the cake with liquid pearls and some more little numbers. 

Happy Birthday my dear Josie. You are an amazing young lady.  Love, Mom

Joy to the World (in a Box)

I used Bo Bunny paper as well as some plain white Cardstock.

The snowflakes (Bo Bunny) were stamped with blue Encore metallic ink

Quick post... I am almost done showing you my Christmas cards. I actually made a lot of different ones this year. I made a few 3d projects that I will post as well, so I better get on it. See you soon.

St. Patrick's Day Box Card

Box cards are still a fun project to make. They fold flat for giving and look great on display.  I created this one with a few cut files on my Silhouette.

Again, the Authentique paper line was my choice. I cut the box using the "a2 Box Card-Nautical" by Lori Whitlock (modified of course - nothing nautical about this project haha) I added some shamrocks to the panels as well  "5 clover shamrock set"
Can you see the foam on the beer mug? Puffy paint!

the inside was a combination of a few elements... "nested St. Patrick's day numbers 1-10"
                                                                          "St. Patrick's day borders set"
and "March" was created by me, using a font in Silhouette Studio. I have no recollection of which one(sigh)
The best part was saving the strip of paper you cut off your 12x12 sheet.  Authentique always includes a lovely quote on their end strip - don't throw those away! that's a great bonus item.

Mid Summer's Night Blog Blitz - Day 3

Hi, welcome to day 3

Here is a fun cut file I downloaded off the Silhouette store. It comes with the box card, sun, flip flops, coconut, front leaves and words.  I added in some more tropical leaves,hibiscus and palm tree using dies and rubber stamps. I think it turned out pretty great. I love the bright vibrant colors

The side panels were embossed and inked with distress inks (picked raspberry and mustard seed)

Paper is from Bo Bunny

Below is a picture of the collapsed card ready to send off to someone, but I think I'll keep this one hehehe
