Celebrate!

Here's one more birthday card that I made for my other daughter. Both of my girls were born in January. My oldest turned 26.  She, too, is a beautiful, intelligent and articulate person.

I have been using a lot of graphic png images on my cards lately. This graphic bundle is called
Winter Animal Tea Party. I purchased it from the hungry jpeg.

I printed the animals twice so I could layer them. I'm sure I could have set it up as a print and cut, but sometimes I just like to do things "old school" and actually use my exacto knife to cut things out.
I really love personalizing cards for the recipient. It makes the whole creative experience fun.

Thanks for stopping by.  I know I am really behind with my blogging. My annual vacation to Thailand has been a nice mental break for me. Back to reality...see you soon.

A Happy Birthday Text

Here's a contemporary card I made for one of the Paramedics at work. As the admin support, my job is to make sure the staff get some birthday recognition.  LOL well isn't that just perfect for my creativity?
I made a 3D iPhone card with a little insert for everyone to sign.
this was a cut file from the Silhouette Design store:

TRENDY HEART PHONE

PRINT & CUT

This design utilizes the Silhouette's print & cut feature. For more information about print & cut designs, please visit silhouetteamerica.com.

I set up the "phone" as a print 'n cut, with text messages for a more personalized card.
Then I made the phone case to enclose the card
It has a magnetic closure as well. I added little enamel dots for some embellishment, but let the graphic design on the card be the star.
this was a fun little project. I can see making more of these in the near future.

Urban Scrapbook's Monthly Challenge Kit - February

Hello everyone,
Welcome to February. Singles awareness month.  hahaha
This month's kit from Urban Scrapbook features paper from Bo Bunny.

My page features an XO cut file from Silhouette Deign Store, and some word phrase stamps from Tim Holtz.  The rest of the supplies are in the monthly kit - ok I lied, I used some wine color embossing powder for the wooden hearts.

you can check out the other design teams pages over at the Urban Scrapbook blog here
bye for now...

Happy Birthday Glam

Happy birthday to my beautiful, intelligent, and articulate daughter. She turned 23 years old.  My baby is 23! How did that happen?

I used this fun box card from SVGCuts.com  Hearts Aflame is the name of the kit.
Great box card Mary! I love how it turned out.

Urban Scrapbook's Monthly Challenge Kit - January

hello everyone,
This month's kit at Urban Scrapbook is one of my favorites.  I love the winter lodge look - plaids and sweater patterns. This paper package is from "Cabin Fever by Carta Bella"

In the kit, you also get glitter paste and a snowflake stencil. I applied the paste on the dark blue paper and also on various parts of the chipboard pieces
the photo is one I got off Pinterest by Gant photography. (Love that picture!)
the only "extra" piece that wasn't in the kit is the plaid deer.  I bought it on the Silhouette Design store and printed it for my layout.
thanks for stopping by, you can check out the other January layouts here.
See ya next time

12 Days of Christmas - Winter Fell Gently Over the Land

The final card this month was a last minute purchase from The Hungry JPEG
I try not to spend a lot of money on graphic files (because, trust me, my shopping cart can get a little out of control!) but as soon as I saw this one, I HAD to have it.
you can check out the bundle here
As before, I created the whole scene in Silhouette Studio. I drew a 5x7 rectangle first, to limit the size of my card.
I added a deer silhouette, fill-patterned him, and added a phrase to to front of the card.

Merry Christmas everyone, thank-you for taking time out of your busy days to visit me on the blog.
I will see you in January xo

12 Days of Christmas - Reindeer are always in Fashion

Merry Christmas my Deers!
I purchased this wonderful graphics pack from the Hungry jpeg.
I created a pink subtle background and layered the deers in a "runway" pattern.
I love Silhouette Design studio for creating layered graphics. I don't have Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator (which I'm sure might be easier)
Quick, simple, and lots of fun.

see you soon - one more post for the "12 days of Christmas".
