Down to the Village With a Glue Stick in her Hand

Hello friends,
As you probably know, I am a huge 3D paper art fan.  I wanted to share some of the many houses I have made over the past year for decorating my house at Christmas.  Some of the photos are a bit blurry, but you can still get the idea.  They are all from various SVGCuts kits.
the wintery barn...

my favorite, the ski lodge...

Santa's Big Comfy Chair

Here's a cute little project for you,
Snapdragon Snippets always have great 3D paper projects. As soon as I say this one, I purchased and downloaded it right away.I used an older paper line that I had in my stash from last year.(MME, I think)
once the chair was assembled, I wanted a little more decoration, so I thought "maybe Santa lays out his suit before the big night". So off I went yo the Silhouette store and downloaded Santa's clothes (complete with a coat hanger!)
it's a gift card holder too!
Thanks for looking, see you next time.

Snowflakes by Lamplight

Another one of those beautiful cut files from SVGCuts.com
Boho Butterflies is the name of the kit
The sweet man gave me the idea to make a Halloween lamp, so of course, I had to do the Christmas spin too.
I used Bo Bunny papers for the base and shade, edged with some metallic silver ink
The vellum was slightly tinted with broken china distress ink and over stamped with white pigment ink and an old snowflake stamp I've had for years (PSX)
I really loved the way this one turned out, I wrapped it up and was part of our "secret santa" gift exchange at Urban Scrapbook's Christmas party. I know it went to a loving home. Hahaha.

Shut the Barn Doors

Here's a spin on the "through the Christmas door" box card I made, of course, inspired by the lovely Mary Rudakas from SVGCuts.com

I used a TON of cut files for this card.
the doors, reindeer, skis, trees, words, sled, lantern, and skates were all cut on the silhouette.
with the exception of the box, everything was cut out with white cardstock and I added my own coloring to them. I used an Oldie, but Goodie stamp for the wreath. I'm sorry, but I can't remember the name of the company that produced it.

same, same, but different. this one I actually made first. The barn doors don't open, whereas in the one above, they do.
I used Cottage Cutz Poinsettia for the sides.
One week 'til Christmas everyone! "Let's hope it's a good one, without any tears."

Another SVGCuts Box card. This one is in the kit too.check it out here
I used Bo Bunny paper as well as some plain white Cardstock.
The snowflakes (Bo Bunny) were stamped with blue Encore metallic ink

Quick post... I am almost done showing you my Christmas cards. I actually made a lot of different ones this year. I made a few 3d projects that I will post as well, so I better get on it. See you soon.

Through the Christmas Door

Hi there,
I made this box card for an awesome lady/friend/coworker/craft enabler (right Kelly?). Her love of Aqua made it easy to choose the colors for this card.
Of course, the "More Christmas Box Cards" kit from SVGCuts.com here It took all the hard work out of the design.  Mary, you rock!  I have said it before, and I will say it again, SVG Cuts is my favorite site for 3D craft projects.
Red and cream made the perfect color compliments for the aqua, giving it a retro, rustic feel.
the wreath is all paper cuts (dies and punches), even the little bow is paper!
The shabby woodgrain paper is Bo Bunny. I think I am a little obsessed with Bo Bunny papers.  hahahha
See you soon I have a couple more box cards from the kit to share

Reindeer Snow Globes

Hello my friends:
Here's a not so quick and easy card, however, the Silhouette machine did most of the hard work.
I used a nested snow globe cut for these 2 cards, the first one has the "positive cut" and the second has the "negative cut"
I used the wonderful Bo Bunny papers for the 2 cards
The reindeer and trees inside were cut out in white cardstock and tinted with distress inks
The little deer family in front are Memory Box dies
on the one below, I actually put waaaay too much glass beads and glitter in there, so I had to cut a tiny slit in the back and 'drain' out some of the filler. Now you can see the deer, which was kind of the whole point.
The holly branch was cut in white and colored with copic markers. Bo Bunny snowflake stamps were added with Blue metallic Encore ink. Lastly, I went around the globe with Mercury Glass stickles
I used an old favorite stamp (Stampington & Co.) with brown Archival ink and tinted with festive berries distress ink
I thought the easel lantern cards were my favorite this year, but I really like these ones the more I look at them. Which card has been your favorite this year? I'd love to hear from you.  I have a few more to post so stay tuned, and thanks for looking!

Sleigh Bells 'round the Bend

Hello,
Here's a card I designed on the Silhouette Studio software.
I took a plain bendy card file and added a tree line on the back and middle panels.
On the front, I cut and welded the horse and sleigh. I was amazed at the precise cut the machine did with the reigns. They are so fine, I thought they'd tear. Yay Silhouette machine!
I cut everything in white, then added color with Distress inks, Fluid Chalk inks and stamps.
I used that awesome Heidi Swapp "believe" die on the card above.
On the one below, I typed the words using the Mistral font and cut them out with the Silhouette
A few extra trees and some Snowflake paste (Prima) finish off the bendy card and gave it just a little more sparkle and dimension.
Thanks for stopping in, see you soon.

Joy

Hi,
Here's a quick card I made.
I typed the word Joy in my Silhouette studio software and welded it together with a snowflake.
I cut out the top layer in white, then offset the image to give it a mat in Aqua.
I used Kaiserkraft's "Sleigh Bells" collection paper.
To add a little sparkle, I embossed a snowflake stamp with sticky EP and foiled the image with silver and mint foil. In the photo below, you can see the shine. On the word Joy, I randomly rubbed a glue stick over the paper then foiled the word. I'm really loving this technique.

Easel Christmas card

Hi again,
This card is "easily" my favourite. Again, a Pinterest inspired card, but lots of modifying to cut files on my Silhouette machine.
I picked up this great package of pearlized paper at Staples. I've used it quite a bit for my cards.
I cut and punched a whole bunch of shapes and then just began layering and layering.
The photo was sized and printed to go inside the lantern "Victorian Christmas"©Thomas Kincaid.
Thanks for looking today, happy birthday to me. I will be having a relaxing "me" day today. See you next time.

A Grand Christmas

Hi,
another Pinterest inspired card.
I used a cut file on my silhouette and modified it a wee bit
you can see the layers on the card below, plus I embellished the top with boughs of holly, pinecones and Christmas greens.
Dies used: Tim Holtz Tattered Pinecone and Christmas Greens
Embossing Folder used: holly branch

Let Us Adore Him

Here's another beautiful card, using the picture "Every Knee Shall Bow" by Gaye Frances Willard.
I wanted to give the illusion of looking through a church window so I cut the Gothic window on my Silhouette and gave it the tarnished silver effect using silver EP and UTEE clear
I cut Sookwang adhesive to size and glittered the Window with clear rock candy. I also used some red and green glitter I had in my stash.
Lastly, I added some greenery to the bottom with more die cuts and a mini poinsettia.
I think this is one of my favourite cards this year. I'm really happy with the way it turned out.
See you next time.

Believe

I looked everywhere on Pinterest for the inspiration for this card. Do you think I could find it? NO!
I searched for an hour. Lesson learned, if you like it, Pin it.
Anyway, the card is made from 2 Silhouette files with a layer of Sookwang adhesive in between glittered with Rock Candy distress.

Paper used: Bo Bunny, black Cardstock and gold metallic 6x6 from Tim Holtz
Dies used: Believe from Heidi Swapp, Berry Sprigs from Dees Distinctively, Holly from (can't remember)

Even Santa knows

Hi there
I was inspired by this picture to make a "true" meaning of Christmas card.

I printed the photo on vellum (careful! It stays wet for a looooong time. Ask me how I know this lol)
I cut a circle frame with my dies that I have, same with the rectangle.
I foam taped the frame over the picture, and embellished with more die cuts and the awesome Martha Stewart punch.
Paper used: Bo Bunny
Photo credit: found on Pinterest but original painting is called "Every Knee Shall Bow" by
                     Gaye Frances Willard. BEAUTIFUL!
Dies used: Dees Distinctively "wreath builder" and "berry sprigs"

Advent Calendars too

Here is my second Advent Calendar that I made for my youngest daughter.
I cut and assembled 24 matchboxes (Sizzix)

the paper is from Kaisercraft and the little house and tree are Silhouette cut files. I cut them using the glitter cardstock from AC.  The roof was actually the same color, but I used my Copic marker to make it darker.
I filled it with chocolate and Pez and mom memories for her.

Advent Calendars

I made Advent Calendars for my two daughters this year. I will share them with you.

This "apartment building" is actually a Halloween countdown calendar from the Silhouette store, here
I modified it a little bit and added window panes.
It's filled with treats and a special note for each day.
